Sony DCR-SR80

To give credit where credit is due. I tried the Sony Chat (which by the way is the greatest thing to ever happen to customer service) and got another person who gave me the right answer. This camera uses the mpeg-2 format. Apple has a $20 download that coverts to Quicktime automatically. All good now :-)

Glad you got it worked out, Chris. Personally, I will never buy another Sony product because of the horrible customer service I received after buying a (very expensive) Sony big-screen TV.

Ok the option I mentioned above actually didn't work either.

It’s still a pain but I found this tool called MPEG Streamclip that is a free download.

It’s a pretty cool tool.

You use this to covert to Quicktime and then you can use the files with iMovie.
